To mark the 125th Birthday, of Fenwicks of Bond Street, they invited Stephen Jones, to choose a decade and create a couture hat inspired by that period.
Stephen looked into the press archive of Fenwicks during the 1940’s and was inspired by an article in Vogue from April 1941 called, ‘Spring Time in Bond Street... Idea Time at Fenwicks’
“It’s Spring again – you’ll need new clothes to meet the sun! There’s a suggestion that femininity is creeping back after the severely practical clothes of the past season. Ideas are inspiring and the new colours are grand.”
Using this as inspiration; Stephen created a white straw trilby, with grosgrain gold leather flower detailing, to be sold on Paddle 8 and with proceeds going to Brain Tumour Research.
