Stephen Jones Millinery presents its spring summer 2024 collection, ‘Cymru’.
Stephen explores his Welsh heritage which has sparked inspiration for the Model Millinery, Miss Jones and JonesBoy collections. A love letter to Wales, from headdresses of red dragons’ wings, to a straw brim spiralled into Celtic knots, or Dylan Thomas poetry embroidered on ribbon turbans.

The collection delves into Stephen’s past; imagining his great great grandmother eloping from Wales to Liverpool in the 1800’s and the confetti sprinkled bridal veil she would have loved to have worn. Celebrating the people of Wales, its mining history and the glamour of club legend Steve Strange and diva Shirley Bassey.

The magic of the haunting Welsh landscape is seen throughout the collection in layered tulle hats in the colours of Snowdonia, sweeping crin cloches reflecting the tides of Anglesey and feathered hats evoking the red kite, National Bird of Wales.

Finally, the traditional Welsh ‘Het’ is morphed into a transparent cocktail hat containing a yellow pavé
daffodil.

wedi bod wrth ei bodd wedi’i wisgo, wedi’i ysgeintio â chonffeti. Yn dathlu pobl Cymru, ei hanes glofaol a hudoliaeth y seren Clybiau Steve Strange, a’r difa Shirley Bassey.
