Autumn / Winter 2025
SENSEational
‘How sense-luscious the world is. The senses don’t just make sense of life in bold or subtle acts of clarity, they tear reality apart into vibrant morsels and reassemble them into a meaningful pattern.’
‘A Natural History of the Senses’
by Diane Ackerman, 1990
Stephen Jones Millinery presents its Autumn Winter 2025 collection, SENSEational.
The Model Millinery, Miss Jones and JonesBoy collections transport you through a sensory journey, to explore...
Sight:
Silhouettes from majestic to micro proportions; oversized profiles to mini landscapes with petite detailing.
Sound:
Concentrating sound waves through satin bonnets, or embroidered headphone tiaras with feather insulation.
Taste:
Good taste - a collaboration with Jana Lai* a chocolate Top Hat
Bad taste - ‘No taste is what I’m against’
- Diana Vreeland
Touch:
Caressing the soft felt trilbys and pricking your fingers on shards of glass on a Mohican crown.
Smell:
The smell of the crisp hued leaves scented by ‘Wonderwood’ by Comme des Garçons or ‘Tweed’ by Lenthéric.
Sixth Sense:
In Millinery we are always working within the weaves of perception.
*This season we collaborated with Parisian couturière du chocolat, Jana Lai to create an edible chocolate top hat. Using 70% dark chocolate couverture with notes of red fruits and floral undertones.
Techniques for the creation of the hat include moulding, hand sculpting and airbrushing with a dark chocolate cocoa butter.
